Man appears in court charged with murder of 15-year-old boy in Skelmersdale

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy in Lancashire.

Dylan Bragger was found dead at an address on Digmoor Road in Skelmersdale at around 9pm last Thursday (June 29). Filipe Figueiredo, 28, has been charged with his murder.

On Saturday (July 1), he appeared at Preston Magistrates' Court, LancsLive reports. During the brief hearing, Figueiredo, of Birleywood, Skelmersdale, spoke only to confirm his name and address.

He did not enter any plea to the charge of murder. Figueiredo will appear at Preston Crown Court tomorrow (July 4).

He was remanded into custody. In a statement following his death, Dylan's devastated family described him as a 'gentle giant' and said 'no amount of words will ever take our pain away'.

They added: "Our boy had a heart of gold, he was a gentle giant and was loved by so many. As a family we have no words to explain how we are feeling at this heart-breaking time.

“Dylan had such an infectious smile that would light up any room and he could cheer anyone up with one of his big bear hugs. Our boy didn’t deserve any of this, he was just a 15-year-old lad working towards being a car mechanic, with his whole life ahead of him.

"We’ve got a hole in our heart that will never heal and no amount of words will ever take our pain away. We love you always and forever."
