Man, 27, who died at home was found 'covered in blood'

A man who died at home was found 'covered in blood' by his partner, an inquest opening has heard. Kyle White, 27, died at home on Kensington Street, in Rochdale, after emergency services were called to a 'concern for welfare' on the afternoon of July 21.

An inquest into his death was opened at Rochdale Coroners' Court on Friday morning (August 4). Area coroner Catherine McKenna said Mr White was a carer for a family member at the time of his death.

Police coroners' officer Tracey Bunn said Mr White was found 'unresponsive', 'face down' at the side of his bed by his partner.

He was 'covered in blood', the court heard. Mr White 'may have taken drugs the evening before', the inquest hearing was told.

The results of a post mortem are pending. A cause of death has not yet been established, though third party involvement has been ruled out.

A review date has been set for October 30 this year, with a full inquest due later this year.

Friends of Mr White paid tribute to him on social media following his death. One pal wrote: "Such heartbreaking news. Rest easy up there you will be truly missed."

Another posted: "Good to know you been mates a long time had some good times back when we was daft. Will miss you my pal guess I’ll see you on the other side."
