Man, 26, killed and two others rushed to hospital after dirt bike horror smash

A man who was riding on a dirt bike in Cheshire has died after a crash with a car. Emergency services raced out to Halton Brown, in Runcorn, at around 1.20pm on Friday (September 23).

The collision involved a red and white dirt bike and a black Ford Eco Sport car. Police cordoned off the area following the incident as paramedics checked those involved, while an air ambulance landed near to the scene on a field on Quarry Close, behind Boston Avenue.

Cheshire Police says the bike had two men on it, including a 26-year-old local man who died after being taken to Whiston Hospital. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The other man on the bike, aged 23, was also taken to Whiston Hospital for further checks. The driver of the car, a woman, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

A spokesperson for the force said: "A number of enquiries are currently underway and road closures remain in place at this time." Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact Cheshire Police online here, quoting IML 1373040, or call 101.
