Man, 25, stabbed in 'targeted attack' in town centre
A 25 year-old man was stabbed in what police have called a 'targeted attack' just days before Christmas.
The man was rushed to hospital from Stockport, but police said thankfully his injuries are 'not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing'. Detectives said they were 'currently investigating the full circumstances' surrounding the attack and have now issued an appeal for the public's help.
It happened on Wellington Road in Stockport, near to the junction of St Thomas' Place, just outside the town centre, at around 1pm on Saturday - December 21.
"Emergency services attended and a 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries that are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing," said a GMP statement issued on Christmas Eve.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. Additional officers will be in the area over the coming days and they will be more than happy to lend a listening ear to any concerns you may have."
Detective Constable Matt Johnston, of Stockport CID, said: "We are currently investigating the full circumstances of this incident, and I would urge anyone with any information to please come forward and speak to us. We have launched an investigation and a team of detectives are working hard to ensure we find those responsible.
