Man, 25, charged over 'assault' in Northern Quarter as police appeal for info
A man has been charged in connection with an alleged assault in Manchester city centre. Officers were called out to an incident at Stevenson Square, in the Northern Quarter, at around 4.45pm on Saturday, November 25.
Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to reports of a section 18 assault. The force says a 34-year-old man was seriously injured, although his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
A 25-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident, but police are continuing their investigation. Elmi Duraku has been charged with possession of offensive weapon and section 18 assault.

He has been remanded into custody whilst enquiries continue. Officers are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward.
