Major road to be closed after serious crash

Police were called to the scene of a "serious collision" in Bridgend. Officers for South Wales Police said the incident took place on the A4061 Litchard Hill on Thursday night. They asked drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

A statement from South Wales Police read: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on the A4061 Litchard Hill, Bridgend. The road is currently closed in both directions between the Sainsburys roundabout junction with Ty Risha lane to the junction with Heol West Plas. It is expected to remain closed for some time.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area." The road re-opened shortly before 10pm.
