Major emergency services response to chemical spill at Cardiff University - live updates
Emergency services are attending a chemical spill at the main Cardiff University building in the capital. Pictures show multiple fire trucks – at least seven – at the scene as well as at least three ambulances and a chemical incidents unit lorry.
A spokesman for Cardiff University has said it is a "contained incident" but the main building has been evacuated and temporarily closed. They added that there were no reported serious injuries or casualties but a small number of people are being checked by paramedics as a precautionary measure.
A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they received reports of an incident in Park Place in Cardiff and had multiple crews in attendance alongside emergency service colleagues. They added that the incident is currently ongoing.
