Major emergency services response as Cardiff's North Road closed due to accident: live updates
A man has been taken to hospital after accident involving a pedestrian on one of Cardiff's busiest roads. North Road is closed in both directions as investigations are carried out at the scene.
Police said they were called to the scene, between Cathays High School and the old Stratstone Garage, at at 12.49pm on Tuesday (March 28) to reports of a road traffic collision.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said one person has been taken the University Hospital of Wales. South Wales Police has warned that the road is likely to remain closed for a long time. Local residents reported a large number of emergency service teams were in the area including police, ambulance and fire crews.
Local bus routes in the area have been diverted and people heading to Wales' game against Latvia tonight are being urged to take an alternative route.
