Maidstone United forward Dajon Golding on returning to English football after successful spell in Scotland and scoring on his debut

New Maidstone forward Dajon Golding is ready to deliver back in English football after a season to remember in Scotland.

Golding scored the goal of his life as Elgin City reached the League 2 play-offs.

His brilliant solo effort in a 3-0 win over Stranraer in April went viral on social media and helped clinch City’s play-off spot.

They missed out on promotion and Golding returned south over the summer to sign for the Stones.

The goal drew attention to his talents but wasn’t decisive in his move to the Gallagher Stadium.

“That goal went everywhere,” said Golding, who scored on his Stones debut in a 1-1 draw at Hemel Hempstead on Saturday.

“It was crazy. It was mental. It was a decent goal.

“It was one of the games we needed to win to get in the play-offs.

“I’d like to think it helped me get a move but it’s more about stats and figures, how many goals you score, how many assists you make, how many appearances you make.
