Maguire and Meadow both tied-13th in Florida

Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow are right on the fringes of contention heading into the final round of the LPGA Tour's Pelican Championship in Florida.

The Irish duo both sit on five under par thru 36 holes, nestling on the edge of the top-10 at the close of their round, five strokes off the lead of American Allisen Corpuz who has posted a pair of 65s.

After a sluggish opening round, Maguire fired up the leaderboard on Saturday, posting a superb 64 to climb into the top-10 early on Saturday.

FULL LEADERBOARD

Maguire, seeking a second LPGA Tour win, was left to rue a costly double bogey on the par-3 12th hole after a stellar outward nine of 29, containing six birdies. She reacted well, recovering the lost strokes with a birdie at the par-5 14th and another on the 18th but at the close of her round lay five shots behind the leader Corpuz.

Stephanie Meadow followed her opening 67 with a steady 68 in Round 2, beginning brightly with successive birdies on 3 and 4. She dropped a stroke on the 8th however, and parred her way until the 17th, the birdie lifting her back to -5, alongside her compatriot.
