MAFS UK viewers issue same complaint minutes into Adam and Polly's wedding

Married at First Sight UK fans were left in disbelief when a groom failed to pay his bride a compliment as they encountered one another for the first time at their wedding.

In the episode broadcast on E4 (September 19), 33 year old Adam Aveling stood in anticipation of meeting Polly Sellman, aged 28, for their auspicious encounter. Despite the excitement surrounding his forthcoming nuptials, Adam surprisingly did not offer any praise upon seeing his radiant bride.

Polly, working as a careers advisor, however, did not hold back on lauding barber Adam, applauding his 'very attractive' nature, alongside his 'beefy' build and 'nice haircut'.

Directly addressing the camera, an elated Polly confessed her attraction: "I do fancy him," but the chemistry wasn't reciprocated.

Adam actually conceded: "The initial attraction's not 100 percent there. She's not my usual type. 10 out of 10 for me would be petite, brunette, dark features, tan. She's not what I expected.", reports OK!.

Alfie, who is Polly's best mate, was quick to note Adam's omission and directly addressed it with him.

Despite Alfie's concerns, Adam simply acknowledged them, highlighting his preference for brunettes, but he did appreciate Polly's "bubbly personality".

Viewers weren't shy about expressing their dismay online after witnessing the interaction, with comments streaming in: "Alfie clocked Adam from the get-go", declared one viewer.

A second viewer expressed frustration, writing: "More I see Adam, more I get annoyed ngl tbh. #MAFS #mafsuk", as a third commented: "Adam can't say a single nice thing about Polly #mafsuk."

Another added, highlighting the mismatch: "The first thing you noticed about her was her BUBBLY PERSONALITY give me a break Adam #mafsuk".
