Mack Hansen ruled out of Connacht's Champions Cup trip to Saracens

Connacht will be without Mack Hansen for Saturday's Investec Champions Cup clash with Saracens, the province have confirmed.

The Ireland wing limped off midway through the first half of Friday’s 41-5 loss to Bordeaux Begles with a foot injury.

"We’re investigating the injury further before we know where we can go with it," assistant coach Collie Tucker told RTÉ Sport.

"Hopefully it’s not too bad but we won’t know until we get the full medical update."

He also confirmed that full-back Tiernan O’Halloran and lock Oisin Dowling will miss out on the game at the StoneX Stadium on Saturday (1pm) through injury.

Connacht conceded nine penalties, and had a 77% success rate at the lineout and and made 85% of their tackles.

Tucker said that the review of the six-try-to-one loss was forthright.

"We had a frank and very honest review, backs and forwards and some individual conversations. From here on in we’re talking about Saracens," he said.

"The players were honest with each other; we were honest with each other as coaches and it’s done now.

"We know [our supporters] feel let down and should feel let down. We totally understand their frustration.

"From our point of view, I wouldn’t question the attitude of any of our players. A lot of aspects of our game didn’t function as it has functioned so far this season.

"I think it was an anomaly, I don’t think that’s been our consistent behaviour for the last 18 months.

"There were a lot of areas of our game that just didn’t function. We take confidence from the start of the season. We just need to get back to our processes."
