M62 LIVE traffic updates as motorway fully SHUT after serious crash

A stretch of the M62 is fully closed this morning after a serious crash.

The westbound side of the motorway has been shut off near Warrington. The closure is in place from junction nine for the M6 to junction eight for Burtonwood. All emergency services are on the scene, according to National Highways.

The closure is likely to remain in place through the morning. Delays are building up to the scene of the incident.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, National Highways said: "The #M62 is closed westbound J9 (#M6) - J8 #Burtonwood in #Cheshire. This is due to a serious collision.

"All emergency services are on scene and this closure is likely to remain in place throughout the morning. More to follow..."
