M62 crash LIVE updates after traffic stopped on motorway approaching Manchester
All traffic was stopped on part of the M62, affecting drivers heading towards Manchester. Drivers in all lanes have been held by emergency services around one mile past junction 23 of the westbound carriageway, between Huddersfield and Saddleworth.
Four cars are understood to be involved in the collision. The lanes have since reopened, but there are long delays approaching the scene.
An post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident, four cars involved on M62 Westbound after J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield). Roughly one mile after the junction."

An update from Inrix later said: "Very slow traffic due to earlier accident, four cars involved on M62 Westbound after J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield). All lanes have re-opened after traffic was held for around fifteen minutes.
"Residual delays remain." Further details about the nature of the collision are yet to be confirmed.
