LIVE: All rail services stopped between Manchester and Stockport after person hit by train
All rail services have been stopped between Manchester and Stockport this evening after a person was hit by a train.
Emergency services are at the scene between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport on Tuesday evening (November 26), with a number of lines blocked as a result. Disruption is expected until at least 7:30pm.
Passengers are being warned of delays of up to 30 minutes or diversions to services via Wilmslow. Stockport and Macclesfield will not be served at this time.

Display boards at Manchester Piccadilly tonight warn of delays to passengers travelling through Stockport.
The following advice has been published for those travelling on CrossCountry services: "CrossCountry tickets will be accepted on the following routes:
- Northern via any reasonable route
- Transport for Wales between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe
- London Northwestern Railway via any reasonable route."
National Rail has published the following advice for those travelling on Avanti West Coast services tonight:
"Replacement buses will run in the following routes: Between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport Between Macclesfield and Wilmslow."
Rail operators have said disruption is now expected between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport until the end of the day.
