M60 closed due to late night 'police incident' at Oldham - latest updates

The M60 has been closed due what is being described as a "police incident" at Oldham late on Friday night.

In an alert on Twitter at 11.43pm, National Highways North West said: "M60 is in the process of being closed in both directions between J20 and J21 near Oldham, Greater Manchester, due to an ongoing @gmpolice [Greater Manchester Police] /@NWmwaypolice [North West Motorway police] led incident. Further updates to follow... "

At 11.47pm, North West Motorway Police tweeted: "Ourselves and Highways England have closed the M60 c/w at J20 & a/c/w at J21 due to an ongoing incident."
