M6 traffic LIVE with huge delays after car overturns in crash - updates

There are long delays on the M6 today after a serious crash which left a car overturned.

The crash happened on the southbound carriageway of the motorway from junction 19 for Knutsford to junction 18 for Holmes Chapel.

Two vehicles are reported to be involved in the crash, with three lanes blocked off and severe delays.

Travel service Inrix says: "Three lanes blocked and severe delays due to accident, two vehicles including an overturned car involved on M6 Southbound from J19 A556 (Knutsford) to J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel).

"Cameras show lanes two three and four (of four) are blocked. Traffic is slow on opposite side likely due to onlookers."

They say:

The scene has cleared following the earlier incident on the M6 southbound between J19 Knutsford and J18 Holmes Chapel

All lanes are open however there are resultant delays of 60 minutes in the vicinity, these should begin to clear soon.
