M56 LIVE updates as long delays building after 'multi-vehicle crash'

Long delays are building on a stretch of the M56 this morning after a 'multi-vehicle crash'.

Two lanes are currently shut on the westbound side of the motorway from junction six for Hale and junction seven for Bowdon. According to traffic alert service Inrix, there has been a multi-vehicle crash on the scene.

Emergency services are on the scene. Delays are building up to the closure.

Motorway cameras show long queues on the westbound side of the motorway. Congestion is currently back to junction 3A for Baguley.
