M4 sees long delays due to emergency repairs - live updates

There are long delays on the M4 around Port Talbot due to emergency repairs. The eastbound carriageway has been reduced to one lane (of two) while the work is ongoing.

The repairs are taking place between Junction 42 A483 (Swansea East / Briton Ferry) and Junction 41 A48 Pentyla-Baglan Road (Baglan/Pentyla).

As a result there are severe delays in the area through rush hour. At 7.30am travel time is approximately 30 minutes with traffic cameras showing gridlock congestion. The reason for the emergency repairs is not known.
