M4 crash near Cardiff causes traffic tailbacks and lane closures
There was queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to accident on the M4 eastbound in Cardiff this afternoon.
According to traffic monitoring service, Inrix, two vans were involved in the collision on M4 Eastbound at J32 A470 Northern Avenue (Coryton Interchange). Lanes one and two (of four) were closed, which are also the dedicated lanes for the A470.
Traffic Wales confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that emergency services are on scene. Road cameras indicated that there was congestion as far back as J33 at one point.
However, at around 2.18pm, Traffic Wales South confirmed that the road was clear, with road cameras showing that traffic had returned to normal. Shortly afterwards, Inrix, confirmed that all lanes had been reopened.
