M4 crash causes serious disruption near Pyle
There was severe disruption following a crash on the M4 this morning. South Wales Police confirmed that they were called to the incident on the M4 westbound between J37 Pyle to J38 Margam at 8.23am.
According to Inrix, two lanes were blocked and there was queuing traffic due to the accident. At one point, travel time was said to be around 20 minutes. Motorists were warned that delays were possible in the area.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police confirmed that they were called to the scene. They said: "A collision was reported at 8.23am today. It occurred on the Westbound carriageway of the M4 between Pyle an Margam. Emergency services are currently in attendance."
At around 10am however, Inrix confirmed that all lanes had reopened and traffic was easing in the area. They also confirmed that the accident had cleared on M4 Westbound between J37 A4229 (Pyle / Porthcawl) to J38 A48 (Margam).
