M4 closed both ways after crash at Bridgend – updates

South Wales Police have closed the M4 both eastbound and westbound between junctions 34 (A4119) and 35 (A473) following a serious collision near Bridgend and it is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes, with delays expected in that region.

The news of the incident on that stretch of motorway seemed to come as no surprise to some people, with one person on Facebook commenting: "I travel this route to work. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents due to terrible drivers and people on mobile phones."
