Lyndon Dykes sparks Scotland alarm as striker stretchered off in agony at Hampden training session

Vital Scotland star Lyndon Dykes has been stretchered off in agony two weeks out from our Euro 2024 opener against Germany.

The striker was left in a crumpled heap as team-mates rushed to his side before the medics were called for and he was led away on a stretcher. Steve Clarke looked worried as did captain Andy Robertson as they waited for the stretcher. The 28-year-old has been a smash hit in dark blue and has made 36 appearances with nine goals to his name. Dykes' physicality has been a key element to a squad which has reached consecutive Euros under Steve Clarke's stewardship.

But fears have been heightened over Dykes' availability as he was left laying flat on his back. Photographer Amy Allan was snapping the session over the wall at Lower Hampden and caught the incident involving the Queen's Park Rangers striker. Clarke has Che Adams, Ben Doak and Lawrence Shankland as alternative options but could pull up another forward if the injury is deemed severe enough for him to miss the party in Germany.
