Lyndon Dykes OUT of Scotland Nations League clashes but Steve Clarke won't call up replacement

Lyndon Dykes is out of Scotland ’s Nations League games against Armenia and the Republic of Ireland.

The QPR striker has left Steve Clarke ’s squad after suffering an injury to his quad muscle in the World Cup play-off defeat to Ukraine in midweek.

Dykes was subbed at half-time in the 3-1 loss and isn’t fit enough to face Armenia at Hampden on Wednesday.

But Clarke has decided not to call-up a replacement frontman for the Nations League triple-header.

Southampton ace Che Adams should lead the line again but the likes of Stoke’s Jacob Brown and Sunderland hitman Ross Stewart are now pushing for starts.

Gaffer Clarke says a few players are nursing aches and pains but Dykes is the only player to pull out so far.

He said: “We have a few knocks and niggles we’ll assess. There’s maybe one or two with more than a knock but we’ll decide on them Sunday or Monday.”
