Lynagh back in England's extended squad

Louis Lynagh is back in England's rugby plans again, having been drafted in to Eddie Jones' extended 35-man squad for the Six Nations clash with Wales at Twickenham.

It's been a pattern during this season's championship that the exciting 21-year-old winger, son of former Wallabies great Michael Lynagh, has been invited to Australian Jones's wider squad but has then failed to make the final cut.

Again, though, the Harlequins flyer appears to be increasingly in the shake-up for his first international cap, with the coach clearly keen to keep him in his sights.

Lynagh is a man in demand, with interest from both Italy, where both he and his mother were born, and also Australia, for whom his dad was a World Cup winner in 1991 at Twickenham just across the road from where junior now plays for the Quins.

Even if he misses out again this week, as seems probable, he's evidently continuing to make a big impression on Jones, who will have noted that the youngster was again on the scoresheet with a sharp try in Quins' English Premiership win over Wasps on Saturday.

It was his eighth try of the campaign, with only Argentine Agustin Creevy, South African Courtnall Skosan and his fellow England squad member Max Malins having scored one try more than the young sesnation.

Manu Tuilagi and Courtney Lawes, who've both been on the comeback trail in recent weeks and look likely to be recalled for the Wales match on Saturday, are the most striking names back in the 35 who gathered at the team's performance centre at Pennyhill Park.
