Luke Shaw can turn Manchester United ambitions into reality under Erik ten Hag

Luke Shaw will hope the new Manchester United beginning can help realise old ambitions having agreed a contract extension.

The left back has penned fresh terms, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2027. The 27-year-old's previous deal expired in 2024 and his new contract will take him past a decade at the club.

The England international believes there are plenty of good times ahead under manager Erik ten Hag, saying: “We’re at the beginning of our journey under the manager and his coaching staff. We’ve been successful already this season, but we want much more. There’s a great opportunity to create something special here, and I’m going to give everything to be part of that.”

It was a major driver in his decision to reject overtures from elsewhere and make the move to Manchester. In his first club interview, he said: "The main reason I've come here is because they want to win trophies, and so do I.
