Luke Littler lets Glasgow Premier League Darts frustration rip as Gerwyn Price and Luke Aspinall double nine darter denied

Luke Littler let out a roar of frustration after being dumped on his Scottish debut.

The darting superkid saw his hopes of Premier League night-three success at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro extinguished by Gerwyn Price. The 2021 World Champion admitted prior to the contest that he fancied his chances of downing the 17-year-old sensation and backed-up his claims. Price, who missed double 12 for a nine-darter during the thrilling tie, secured victory after a dramatic final-leg decider.

Littler attempted a double-double finish when left with 76 and two darts in hand, but missed the shot at double 18 which would have left tops. The kid shouted at himself for the miss and Price took advantage to coolly step up and finish the contest to move into the semi-finals. Like Price, Nathan Aspinall came agonisingly close to a perfect nine-dart leg during an action-packed quarter-final session. It was a double 12 that did for him too as fans just missed out on a another magical moment in the Premier League.

Aspinall was first to hit the crossbar when he just missed the double on a 141 finish in his last-eight tie against Luke Humphries. Price then did the same thing in his clash with Littler in the quarter-finals as the pair produced sparkling stuff.

To rub salt into his wounds, Aspinall lost his match in the end and was eliminated as the World Champion moved through by a 6-3 scoreline. However, Price was able to secure a success when he claimed the scalp of the superkid 6-5 after a last-leg decider.
