Luke Littler lands explosive 't*** up' warning from raging Gary Anderson as hype train eviscerated by Flying Scotsman

Fuming Gary Anderson has lashed out at the media at the Paddy Power World Championship for the pressure that has been placed on rising star Luke Littler.

The Flying Scotsman will face Brendan Dolan tomorrow in the last 16 of the tournament on Saturday after overcoming Croat giant Boris Krcmar - but the two-time champion saved his most explosive performance of the night for away from the oche as he let rip during his post-match press conference. It came after a question over 16-year-old Littler - who has became the youngest ever player to reach the last 16 on Wednesday, beating Matt Campbell to guarantee himself a minimum of £35,000 in prize money.

He now faces a dream clash with Raymond van Barneveld - but Anderson slammed the brakes on the hype train as he put the pressure on the media gathered inside Ally Pally. He insisted that the pressure from those inside the building could RUIN the career of the darts talent rather than help the Englishman become the next breakout star.

Asked about Littler by Live Darts, Anderson said after reaching the last 16 of the World Championship: "See if we are going to say this now - because we had another youngster called Josh Rock that all you press have absolutely destroyed. So if it ever goes t*** up with Luke, give yourselves a pat on the back.

"Let the boy play darts. I've been downstairs and he's had cameras, zoom calls, Sky meetings let the boy play darts. Let the boy play darts, you know? He has had a great tournament, he has done well, what if it all goes Pete Tong now? You boys have ruined that haven't yous? Let the boy play darts. He is 16-year-old, playing well and just like Josh Rock - he is a fantastic player but yous have knocked him back a few years."
