Luke Littler hurt in fan altercation during Premier League Darts final win in Belfast

Luke Littler has suffered an injury due to a fan altercation before his Premier League Darts victory in Belfast.

Littler was reportedly grabbed by an overexcited punter as he made his entrance ahead of taking on Michael van Gerwen. While walking to the stage to the song "Greenlight" by Pitbull, a fan tried to grab the 17 year old. But stewards were quick to intervene at the SSE Arena.

Littler said he was left a little shaken up and with a sore arm after the incident but he calmed down fast and won against his Dutch opponent 6-3. "I don't know who he was, he pulled my arm. It hurt a little bit," he said. That's why, when I went on stage, I didn't interact with my music. I heard everyone singing but I just needed to relax. As soon as (referee) Charlie said 'Game On', I had to relax myself. My hand is fine. It worked out well."

Littler beat Luke Humphries, van Gerwen, and Nathan Aspinall one after another to win in Northern Ireland. Now he's second in the Premier League darts rankings, just four points behind Humphries, reports the Mirror. The Manchester United fan bounced back from a 3-1 deficit in the final, winning four legs in a row to secure a 6-4 victory. The Warrington-born star is now looking forward to his next match in Manchester, which will feel like a homecoming.

After his win, he said: "I'm happy to win, it's my first one. I'm glad to win against a good friend."

He also mentioned that he has changed his throw, taking more time before releasing each dart. "I have practised more for this and it has paid off. I had a good practice game before coming out with Rob Cross. It got me up for this.
