Luis Diaz: Liverpool star's impressive highlights from first start vs Leicester

Luis Diaz made his first Liverpool start in the team’s 2-0 victory over Leicester City on Thursday evening.

And it was like the Colombian star had been operating in the Premier League for over a decade, such was the quality of his performance at Anfield.

The former FC Porto man didn’t score or assist a goal, but he was absolutely everywhere and looked a constant threat whenever on the ball, with his dribbling skills the real standout.

Diaz’s chemistry with Andy Robertson on the left flank was pretty eye-catching as well, which is hugely exciting if you’re a Liverpool fan.

The Scotsman said in his post-match interview with BT Sport: “My Spanish isn’t great but me and Luis made it work today! My partnership with Sadio has been special over the past five years – he will come back full of confidence after winning a trophy – we have options, we keep pushing each other.”

Diaz was deservedly given a standing ovation by the Anfield faithful when he was replaced by Takumi Minamino in the final few minutes of normal time.

Debuts don’t come much better than that, do they?

The signing of Diaz already looks like a masterstroke by Liverpool and the Colombia international’s individual highlights from the game against Leicester should serve as a warning to the rest of the Premier League.
