Lowe out for Leinster but Van der Flier and Baird in mix

Josh van der Flier and Ryan Baird are among a handful of Leinster players facing fitness battles ahead of Saturday's Heineken Champions Cup semi-final against Toulouse, while James Lowe has been ruled out.

Lowe injured his calf in the win over Leicester Tigers two weeks ago and has failed to recover in time for their clash against the five-time European champions in Dublin.

World player of the year Van der Flier suffered an ankle injury in their last-16 win over Ulster three weeks ago, while Baird injured his shoulder against the Tigers.

The duo will be assessed this week - along with Michael Milne, Vakhtang Abdaladze, Tommy O’Brien, Cormac Foley and Charlie Ngatai - before a decision is made on their participation.

However, both Ed Byrne [tricep] and Rhys Ruddock [hamstring] are out of contention for the Aviva Stadium showdown [3pm, live on RTÉ].
