A number of West Ham fans are delighted after a major development emerged in the Hammers’ attempts to sign Marseille centre-back Duje Caleta-Car.

The Hammers will hopefully be in for a busy few days prior to the January transfer window ending on Monday, as David Moyes surely needs some reinforcements.

While West Ham continue to flourish in general this season, results have dipped of late and there is a feeling that fresh blood is required between now and May – they still don’t have a back-up for Michail Antonio, for example.

One player they have been strongly linked with is Caleta-Car, as Moyes looks to fill the void left by Angelo Ogbonna, who is out injured for the rest of the season.

According to L’Equipe via [via West Ham News & Views on Twitter], Marseille are ready to sell the Croatian before Monday and are even registering the sale, with West Ham now expected to sign him before the deadline.
