Love is Blind UK chaos as star says 'I made a mistake' and calls off honeymoon

Netflix's Love is Blind UK has already become a hotbed of drama despite only recently dropping on the platform. The show, which challenges the traditional norms of dating, released its first part on Wednesday, August 7, and viewers who've devoured the initial four episodes have already witnessed a split.

In an unexpected twist, one of the show's participants decided to end her engagement, subsequently cancelling a planned honeymoon to Greece. Nicole, aged 29, had accepted a proposal from Sam, 31, within the confines of the show's pods, where couples form connections without seeing each other.

The path to their engagement wasn't smooth sailing, however, as Nicole had also developed feelings for another contestant, Benaiah, 33. Complications arose when Benaiah expressed doubts about Sam's intentions during a heartfelt pod date, saying: "I question his integrity and motives for being here. I believe he's basically here for fame, not for love. I feel like such an a**hole right now, this is not what I do. It's because I care which is why I told you. Whichever way you go, you go with your heart on this, where you can genuinely see your future."

Despite the turmoil, Nicole followed her heart and chose Sam. However, their initial face-to-face encounter post-pods was tinged with awkwardness, as Sam professed what he thought was love, only for Nicole to respond by saying she would "hold on" to his declaration, reports the Daily Record.

Speaking after the event, Sam expressed his confusion, telling cameras: "She didn't say it back, it was a little odd."
