Louie Barry makes honest admission after Aston Villa transfer struggle

Aston Villa loanee Louie Barry has admitted that confidence was knocked after the unsuccessful spell at Ipswich Town earlier this season.

The 18-year-old arrived at the League One outfit in August but featured just six times before being recalled by Villa at the start of this year.

Late last month, Barry joined Swindon Town in the fourth tier and, after being eased into the team, has rediscovered that goalscoring touch.

A first Town goal away at Carlisle United last weekend was followed by a brace against Walsall in a 5-0 midweek win, which has restored those confidence levels for the teenager.

"From the very start I felt welcome by all the players, the staff, and the fans," Barry told the club's matchday programme, 'town', "and from that point on it was just trying to get the match fitness up and get used to the experiences of playing League Two football and get a feel for it.

"The gaffer ( Ben Garner ) put his faith in me to start against Scunthorpe and I wanted to repay him, so I've just tried to work my hardest and I'm trying to give my all, trying to make things happen and it is coming good.

"The team has scored 11 goals and not conceded any, and I'm obviously happy to have scored my first goal against Carlisle and the confidence is high in the team, so now we can kick on."

On the subject of confidence, Barry added: "I'm very much a confidence player."

"If I was playing a game and I scored early, it would really give me confidence and because I hadn't really played much this season, I felt my confidence not as good as it was but, this team has given me a lot of confidence, even in training, and they are backing me all the way.

"It has given me a lot of confidence and every game and every training session
