Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) likely to play Week 1 - ESPN

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — While Puka Nacua is week-to-week due to a knee injury, Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said he doesn't anticipate the wide receiver «being affected in terms of even that prep» for the team's season opener against the Detroit Lions.

McVay said Nacua «got his knee banged up» on a touchdown catch during the Rams' joint practice against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday and «felt it» when he was running a route later in the practice.

«Really just had a little bit of a bursa sac, kind of burst it,» McVay said. «And it's just going to be week-to-week with him. Nothing serious, nothing structurally. He'll be in good shape, and he'll recover and we'll be ready to go; no threat of anything for Detroit.»

Nacua is coming off a record-breaking rookie season in which he set the NFL standard for catches (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie.

Nacua's injury is the latest setback in training camp for the Rams, who are without three-fifths of their starting offensive line, as right tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle), left guard Jonah Jackson (shoulder) and left tackle Alaric Jackson (ankle) are considered week-to-week.

The Rams also lost cornerback Derion Kendrick for the season due to a torn ACL, and they are without cornerback Darious Williams because of a hamstring strain.
