Loose Women's Coleen Nolan breaks law and handed huge fine

Coleen Nolan has been handed a huge fine after she was caught breaking the law. The Loose Women star has been handed a £1,000 fine and six penalty points on her licence after being caught speeding.

Nolan, 58, broke the 30mph speed limit while driving her Toyota on Preston New Road in Blackpool, Lancs,. on July 8. The former singer initially pleaded not guilty but changed her plea to guilty on the day of trial at Preston Magistrates’ Courts on July 21.

Nolan, who was born in Blackpool, was fined £900 and six penalty points were added to her license, the Mirror reports. She must also pay a £360 surcharge to fund victim services and £150 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Nolan shot to fame in the seventies, when she started performing with her sisters Maureen, Anne, Linda, Denise and Bernie in pop band The Nolans. She has also been a Loose Women presenter on and off for 20 years and appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2010.

Earlier this month, Nolan announced that she had been diagnosed with basal-cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. She bravely opened up about her diagnosis after keeping initially keeping the news from her family. The TV star spoke out during Loose Women last week in a bid to encourage others to get things checked if they're ever concerned.

Coleen, 58, told viewers that she had been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder and melanoma on her face. She recalled how last year she found a "tiny bit of skin" on her shoulder, which "wasn't annoying" but wouldn't go away despite using creams and oils.
