"Looking to move him on" - Journalist now drops big Wolves exit claim on £46k-p/w ace

Wolves will look to move Adama Traore on this summer, claims the Daily Express’ Ryan Taylor.

The Spanish winger spent the second half of the season out on loan at Barcelona, who have the option to buy him permanently, but it does not look like he will be remaining at the Camp Nou.

The Athletic recently reported that Tottenham are considering making a fresh move for Traore.

This comes after the north London club tried to sign him in January, with The Times claiming that Antonio Conte saw him as someone who could solve his side’s wing-back problem.

In the end, though, Traore rejoined Barcelona after they agreed a loan deal with Wolves with an option to buy for £29m.

However, it is now almost certain that the La Liga outfit will not trigger that, leaving the 26-year-old’s future up in the air.

While he is not ruling anything out, Taylor is not expecting Traore to be a Wolves player in the 2022/23 season.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Daily Express journalist said: “I couldn’t rule it out [Traore staying] because, technically, Barcelona are not going to sign him and he’s going to return.

“But I think he’s only got a year left on his contract, so Wolves will be looking to move him on and use that cash to sort of bolster the options within their squad.”

One reason is likely to be because of the club’s financial situation, with president Joan Laporta suggesting back in March that the money may not be there to sign Traore permanently.

“We’d love Adama Traore to stay here. It’s possible – but we’re in a difficult financial situation. We’ll see at the end of the season,” Laporta said (via The Independent).
