'Looked to be...' - Journalist reveals worrying sight as Leeds player spotted in 'strapping'

Football writer Joe Donnohue has noted that Leeds United striker Rodrigo may have a slight injury concern after coming off in the club’s last game.

In the most recent round of Premier League fixtures, Jesse Marsch’s men claimed their first victory under the American as they snuck past relegation rivals Norwich City with a 2-1 victory at Elland Road.

Indeed, a last-gasp winner from youngster Joe Gelhardt was enough to separate the sides after Kenny McLean had initially equalised in the 91st minute.

All this late drama, however, happened after Rodrigo had opened the scoring before then being subbed off on the hour mark.

Covering the match, journalist Donnohue noted that when the Spaniard came off there seemed to be some ‘strapping’ which could suggest an injury concern.

On Twitter, he wrote: “60′ #LUFC 1-0 #NCFC Rodrigo off for Koch.

“Looked to be some strapping on the Spaniard’s leg. He was good today.”

TIF thoughts on Rodrigo and Leeds…

That win must have felt like a huge relief for all involved with Leeds as it gives them a first win under the new manager, and indeed a first win in ten games.

Having scored the goal, Rodrigo would have been delighted. Especially as this was only his fourth goal of the season. He certainly proved how happy he was after the game, as he took to Instagram to say: “Great performance from the team and big 3 points!!! We are all Leeds!”

However, with Donnohue spotting this potential injury concern, fellow journalist Phil Hay also revealed after the game that the forward does have ‘tight quad muscle’.

Considering his vital role in their latest match, this could be a big concern for the club in the coming weeks.
