Long queues on A470 as two vehicle crash blocks road- live updates

There are long queues forming on the A470 near Cardiff after a two vehicle crash has blocked the road. According to traffic monitoring system INRIX, the crash happened at around 10:15am on Thursday December 29 and involved two vehicles.

The A470 northbound is blocked due to the accident from A4054 (Taffs Well Interchange, Taffs Well) to A468 Caerphilly Road (Nantgarw Interchange, Nantgarw).

Traffic cameras show that traffic is being forced to use the hard shoulder to pass. The camera also shows one vehicle rotated across several lanes of the road and another near the central reservation.

Live traffic systems show queues have formed back to Taff's Well. The emergency services have been contacted for comment.
