Long delays on M4 and A470 after collisions - live updates

There are hour- long delays on the M4 after an accident on Friday afternoon and because of the volume of traffic. Traffic Wales had already warned that the roads are expected to be busier than normal this weekend because of the good weather.

There was an accident on westbound carriageway just before junction 27 Highcross at Newport. The vehicles involved have been moved to the hard shoulder but congestion continued for a time.

Just before 2pm, delays westbound around Newport were around an hour, but this is mainly down to sheer volume of traffic.

There are also delays on the A470 northbound after an accident between Abercynon and Pentrebach. Emergency services are on scene. Lane two currently closed.
