London Broncos confirm signing of French Grand Final winner

London Broncos have announced the signing of Italy international and French Elite Championship Grand Final winner Brock Pelligra.

The 23-year-old played a starring role in Carcassonne’s 20-16 win against XIII Limouxin on Sunday in the Grand Final of French Rugby League’s highest tier.

He will link up with Championship side London on a deal for the rest of the current season. The Australian landed in England earlier this week, and could make his debut away at Workington Town.

“I’m really satisfied with my performances in Elite 1 this season and was hungry for a new challenge,” said Pelligra. “We had a few conversations earlier this week and quickly reached an agreement with the Broncos, I’m thrilled to be here.

“I feel like my work with Carcassonne has really prepared me for Championship level rugby league. It’s a tough division and the Broncos have experienced some tough results this season.

“But my initial impression of the club, my team-mates and those behind the scenes is very good. Everyone is determined to pull in the right direction and ensure the second half of the season is one we can reflect on positively.

“I’m looking forward to my first training sessions and can’t wait to meet the club’s supporters too.

“Playing in France was excellent for my development. I had the language barrier to deal with which was challenging at times, so to hear English conversation when I landed was nice.

“Without the language barrier, I feel I’ll be able to settle much quicker at the Broncos. A few of my team-mates have mutual connections with guys I’ve played with back home so already I’ve established some familiarity.
