LOI preview: Clash of the Rovers live on RTÉ tonight
Shamrock Rovers have clicked into gear in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division as they look to extend a run of five victories in succession tonight in front of the RTÉ cameras.
A slow start to the campaign brought two defeats and draws and brought a wonderment over whether there could be an open top half of the table.
Since a 2-2 thriller with Sligo Rovers on 18 March, the Hoops have reeled off five victories, conceding just two goals, and seeing off the likes of St Patrick's Athletic and Dundalk, who rank among their toughest tests according to the standings.
Tonight they face the last team to take a point off them, with the Bit O’ Red beginning to rally after a having a real wobble since that game.
While Stephen’s Bradley’s men have been near flawless, Sligo had a run of three defeats from four.
They’ve responded with victories over Finn Harps and Drogheda United in the last week. The latter would have been particularly pleasing to Liam Buckley as his side showed character after being somewhat unfortunate to concede two goals.
