Lofty Odsonne Edouard fee set as Crystal Palace get tough with EPL rivals over ex Celtic star

Hardline Crystal Palace want a £20m buy option for Odsonne Edouard inserted in any loan deal as Ipswich aim to strike a deadline-busting deal for the striker.

The Frenchman has toiled at Selhurst Park over the last 18 months and any rumours over a return to Celtic were extinguished earlier this week. Oliver Glasner's side are on the verge of signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal in a deal which could see Palace paying £30m for the forward. And that makes former France U21 standout Edouard surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park.

Edouard has struggled for goals at Palace but Kieran McKenna is keen to breathe new life into the forward's career after signing a host of new faces for the Tractor Boys after their return to the Premier League. A move for Armando Broja has stalled in recent days and now Edouard has emerged as an alternative target.
