Livingston winger determined to come back stronger after summer break

Livingston winger Steven Bradley admits he’s got a big summer ahead of him if he’s to stake his claim to a starting place next season.

The 21-year-old signed for the Lions from Hibs during the winter transfer window and forced his way into the side despite Livi gaffer David Martindale having said the intention was to loan out the youngster.

He confessed he’s found it difficult to keep up his form since that bright start and he hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since a Scottish Cup win over Stenhousemuir in January.

But he insists he’ll be hard at work during the close season in a bid to be in perfect shape to take a big step forward.

He commented: “I started off really well. The first few games we were winning but since then I’ve not been at my best. I’ve not been consistent enough. I’m trying to improve every day and get better but it is hard at times. Sometimes if I’ve not had the best game, I think about what I can do to change it.

“It’s about trying to find a way to improve every day in training and become more consistent in games.”

Bradley, who enjoyed a loan spell in Ireland with Dundalk prior to exiting Hibs for Livi, confessed it can be tough to get over a bad display.

He commented: “It affects you when you’re not playing at your best because you go home after a game and look back and think ‘I wish I’d done this different, I wish I’d done that different’ and that plays on your mind.

“It can be frustrating at times but I’m still young and I feel like I’ve got time to improve and make my game better and become more consistent. That’s my aim personally.”

He added: “I’m confident it will start to click next season. I’ve got a big summer ahead where I’ll be working on things I can improve, especially the physical side
