Livingston lad Luke Crosbie makes Scotland World Cup squad

Livingston's Luke Crosbie has been named in the Scotland squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, which gets underway next month in France.

The 26-year-old flanker, who plays his club rugby for Edinburgh, made the 33-man cut as head coach Gregor Townsend unveiled his squad this morning.

Crosbie, who played for local club Livingston RFC as a youngster, has impressed when called up since making his debut against Tonga two years ago.

The Scots have a challenging group that features three of the current top five sides in the world. They get things up and running against defending champions South Africa on September 10 in Marseille. After that it's a pair of games they'll be expected to win comfortably - Tonga on September 24 and Romania on September 30.

They then finish their group stage fixtures at the Stade de France against world no.1 Ireland with only two teams progressing to the quarter-finals from each group.
