Liverpool vs Everton: Away fans smash up Anfield during Merseyside derby
Everton edged closer to relegation after a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in Sunday’s Merseyside derby.
Frank Lampard’s side went into the match in the relegation zone having seen Burnley win their second consecutive match by beating Wolves earlier in the day.
And that’s where Everton remained after falling to defeat at Anfield thanks to second half goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi.
The Toffees have six matches to save their season as they now sit two points behind Burnley with a game in hand.
They host Chelsea next weekend before facing Leicester (A), Watford (A), Brentford (H), Crystal Palace (H) and Arsenal (A).
It’s still very much in Everton’s hands but you couldn’t blame their fans for starting to get very worried.
But no matter how worried they are, there’s absolutely no excuse for the behaviour of some of them at Anfield on Sunday.
That’s because images have emerged of Everton’s section of the Anfield Road End following their 2-0 defeat – and it’s a disgrace.
A couple of toilet blocks have been smashed up, while TVs have also been broken.
