Liverpool: Van Dijk and Konate video vs Inter Milan shows their incredible partnership

Liverpool didn’t produce one of their greatest performances of the season against Inter Milan on Wednesday but they did enough to have one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side came away with a 2-0 victory thanks to late goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

They were the only two shots on target throughout the entire match.

Inter put Liverpool under pressure at times during the 90 minutes but the Reds held firm and Alisson didn’t have a save to make.

That was mainly thanks to the two centre-backs in front of him.

Virgil van Dijk looked back to his very best and picked up the Man of the Match award for his performance.

But it wasn’t Joel Matip alongside him as it has been for much of this season.

Instead, Ibrahima Konate slotted in next to Van Dijk.

And he was as equally as impressive as the Dutchman.

The dangerous Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko were reduced to scraps and barely got a sniff against the two absolute rocks.

And to highlight just how good the pair were, two compilation videos of their performances has been shared on social media.

It shows both Van Dijk and 22-year-old Konate dealing with absolutely everything – and they did so with relative ease.
