Liverpool transfer completed as West Brom rivals busy on deadline day

In recent years, transfer deadline days involving West Brom have been amongst the busiest in football, however this January, transfers may not be at the forefront of every Baggies fans minds.

Valérien Ismaël has already confirmed the signings of Daryl Dike from Orlando City, and Andy Carroll from Reading on a short-term contract.

However, with less than 90 minutes of football under his belt, 21-year-old Dike suffered a hamstring injury during their 3-0 win over Peterborough United last weekend, ruling him out for at least two months, with Carroll seen as an experienced replacement for that duration.

With two strikers coming in, one departed as Jordan Hugill returned to Norwich City following the expiration of his loan deal, before joining Cardiff City for the remainder of the season.

The Baggies have dropped down to fifth place in the Championship after back to back defeats to Preston North End and Millwall, with many of the sides around them capitalising and looking to strengthen their sides to knock West Brom out of the top six.
