Liverpool face a race to beat two Premier League rivals to one of their top targets to replace Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian's contract at Anfield expires in just a year's time and the Reds may decide to accelerate his departure from the club in order to facilitate the signing of his replacement. The man the Reds are thought to be keen on is Rennes forward Martin Terrier, who netted 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season, but Leeds United and West Ham are rumoured to be considering making bids for the striker this summer.
It comes as Jurgen Klopp has identified two additions to his midfield after calls from fans to bring in a new face in the middle of the park this summer. And Darwin Nunez has been told he needs to "work harder" after a difficult start to his first pre-season with the Reds.
