Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea: Which English club has won the most trophies?

Liverpool cemented their status as the most successful club in England following their FA Cup win over Chelsea on Saturday.

The FA Cup triumph was Liverpool’s second trophy of the campaign having previously won the Carabao Cup in the same manner against the same opponents. And it represented their 45th major trophy in their illustrious history.

It also meant they moved three trophies clear of Manchester United as the most successful team in the land.

That’s according to a table from Sportingintelligence’s Nick Harris following Liverpool’s latest win.

The table includes every club to have won a league title and counts titles, the two domestic cups and European trophies. One-off matches such as the Community Shield, the Super Cup or the Club World Cup don’t count.

Liverpool are at No.1 with 45 trophies, three ahead of rivals Manchester United.

With the Premier League and Champions League still up for grabs, the Reds could even be FIVE clear of United come the end of the season.

Those two clubs are comfortably clear of the team in third place, Arsenal. The Gunners have 31 major trophies to their name.

Chelsea (26) and Manchester City (22) make up the top five.
